From sunrise to sunset, except for stormy weather, men were stationed in the
"Crow's Nest", at masthead watching for whales. Every two hours the
lookouts were relieved from their watch. When a whale or more were sighted,
the men would sing out, "A-a-ah Blo-o-ows, A-a-ah Blo-o-ows.
