A VOYAGE IN TIME #11 Many times, the harpoons did not kill the whale immediately. Stricken with pain the whale "ran" across the surface of the water and the men were off on a "NANTUCKET SLEIGH RIDE", sliding over the waves in a shower of spray. Whatever the whale did, the men waited for it to grow tired, sometimes for hours. Then they would pull on the line, drawing the boat close enough so that the headsman could use his lance to reach the life of the whale. Mad with pain, the whale went into its "flurry". It would swim furiously around and around in smaller and smaller circles. Then it beat the water with its flukes until its death flurry ended. The whale then rolled over onto one side, threw its fin up, and sank back dead. A WHALE OF A TAIL Cost per Cup Plate is $12.00. S/H/P $3.50 Insurance $2.70
