A VOYAGE IN TIME
-
#10
This callus-capped whale was dubbed "right"
because it was slow, floated when dead, and supplied large quantities of oil
and baleen. It is among the most endangered of the great whales and exists
either singly or in small, isolated pods. The "Right Whale" has been
protected by law since 1935. Scientists are uncertain whether there are
one, two or three species.
